社墩村是莲都镇东部的行政村，距镇政府6公里，分设17个村民小组，居民1153人，辖区29平方公里。[1]

地名与沿革[edit]

1980年地名普查时，因与长安镇的东山大队重名，又地处公社东部，改名社墩。[1]1950年设乡民会，1953年改乡人民政府，1955年为低级社，1957年为高级社，1958年为生产大队，1987年改称村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]

经济[edit]

山林面积大，耕地少，以种水稻为主，兼种柑橘、玉米，近年还种了较多玉桂、八角等药材。[1]水源丰富，村内水力发电站较多。[1]
