莲都镇是广东省肇庆市封开县东北部的建制镇，在县城东北68公里处，东邻怀集县，南接河儿口镇，西南连渔涝镇，西北与都平镇相接，北与南丰镇交界。[1][2]下辖1个社区和11个行政村，镇政府驻长罗社区。[2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

莲都乡设于1957年；1960年改建莲都公社；1983年撤社设区；1986年区改为镇。[2]镇名的来历有两种说法：博雅地名网称，清代形成的莲都圩因高纪头山嘴的神庙莲都宫而得名；[2]百度百科则说，清代这一带大面积种植莲藕，夏日莲叶连片，雅称「莲之都」。[1]

地理环境[edit]

镇境多喀斯特地貌，盛产石灰岩，深冲顶是境内最高点，海拔871.4米；气候为亚热带季风气候。[1]全镇面积，百度百科作258.3平方公里，博雅地名网作256平方公里。[1][2]另一份概况统计，镇有林地30.61万亩，耕地共19560亩，水田占其中14512亩。[3]公路方面，省道266线和怀阳高速穿镇而过。[1][3]

人口[edit]

百度百科记2013年末的总人口为36630人；[1]博雅地名网引第七次全国人口普查（2021年6月）的结果，全镇2.24万人，居封开县各街道乡镇第5位，面积居第2位。[2]另一份概况称总人口2.8万余人，其中城镇居民2500余人。[3]

经济[edit]

镇内利用石灰岩、林木和水力资源，建有水电站和木制品加工企业共20多家；农业上以桉树、砂糖桔、水稻为大宗。[3]百度百科记桉树种植约2万亩、砂糖桔约1.7万亩，并说镇内为华润水泥的原料生产基地。[1]莲都山羊是本镇特有的品种，半野生放养于石灰岩山地，被列为封开县十大名优农产品。[4]龙潭藕是产于长罗社区龙潭村一带的野生莲藕。[5][6]

名胜古迹[edit]

百度百科把莲都十里画廊风景区列为镇内景点；[1]博雅地名网说十里画廊在华石村境内，石山峰峦叠起，山下有河流绕山而过。[7]华石村的华兰村每三年举行一次「窦潭节」。[7]文华村的良心寨村被称为封开孔氏的发源地，村中有十余座古屋。[8]

荣誉[edit]

2026年3月，莲都镇被认定为广东省第三批「百千万工程」典型村镇。[2]
