大洲镇的镇政府就设在大洲社区，这里是全镇的中心区[1]。它坐落于贺江与东安江汇合处的大沙洲，社区之名源于此[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

此地在合作化时期叫利群农业社。1958年人民公社化后划成大洲、足食、西畔三个大队，三年后并为一个，到1984年改称乡政府、1987年改设村委会。2002年3月，因为是镇政府所在地，村委会改成了居委会[1]。

地理环境[edit]

社区居镇境南部，东安江、贺江和县道西线公路都从辖区内过。北边是东畔村，南边和东边是大播村，西边隔着江口镇的台垌村；面积约9.12平方千米，耕地1702.5亩、山地12102亩[1]。

人口民族[edit]

社区分9个村民小组，西畔、足食是其中两个，居民合计2740人（该页未标年份）[1]。

经济[edit]

居民靠水稻与经济作物、林果、养鱼和外出打工谋生，人均年收入4491元；集体收入不多，辖区有两家竹木加工厂[1]。

名胜古迹[edit]

规划中的龙皇岛旅游景区在社区内的两江交汇处，已列入县里的贺江旅游开发项目[1]。

荣誉[edit]

2023年1月，司法部和民政部将大洲社区列入「第九批全国民主法治示范村（社区）」[1]。
