新平村是桥头镇的行政村之一，位于肇庆市怀集县，在桥头镇东南面，距圩镇3公里，面积16平方千米，下有9个村民小组，居民4304人（该页未注明年份）。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

新平村民委员会于1998年11月，怀集县人民政府批准成立（怀发〔1998〕20号），驻地为新平村，含渴望和平的意思。[1]

1958年和平乡为四个社；1962年约丰、金丰两地并入和平大队；1971年称和平乡；1983年更名新平乡，因当时冷坑镇也有一个叫和平的乡；1987年起称新平管理区；1998年改为新平村民委员会。[1]

经济[edit]

大琴线从境内通过，水源与林木资源丰富，双橄水库是桥头镇最大的水库，就在村里。[1]
