地名由来[edit]
村子附近有一座形似大象的山头，故名。[1]
经济[edit]
村情材料称有416户、2178人，耕地1377亩（水田1153亩）；不少农户加工竹椅、竹床、竹桌、竹柜等竹器，远销县外，也有农户编织粪箕、箩笠。据2009年统计，社会总产值2423万元，人均收入5707元。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2022年1月，广东省乡村振兴局把大象村列为2021年度乡村治理示范村的创建单位；2021年9月，该村以百香果列入第二批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村；2019年9月，又在2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
