车头村是怀集县怀城街道下辖的行政村，距县城3公里，村域内设有车头林场。[1]

名称与建制先后为车头高级社（1955年）、车头大队（1958年）、车头乡（1983年11月）、车头村委会（1987年）、车头管理区（1989年4月）、车头村民委员会（1998年）。[1]
地名由来[edit]
当地田地多数缺水，要靠水车抽水灌溉，故称车头。[1]
经济[edit]
村情材料称辖8个村民小组、333户、2906人，耕地1200亩（水田950亩），山林8884.5亩，含车头林场。[1]稻田种植良种稻1200亩，松脂基地6750亩，另营造速生丰产林3000亩；据2009年统计，全村社会总产值2505万元，人均收入5679元。[1]
