兴贤社区是怀集县怀城街道的社区，位于县城，是原怀城镇政府所在地一带，辖20个居民小组。[1][2]省级文物保护单位文昌书院（怀城文阁）位于社区内的沿江东路。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

名称与建制先后为兴贤大队（1958年）、兴贤乡（1983年）、兴贤管理区（1984年）、兴贤村委会（1986年）、管理区（1988年）、居委会（1998年）、兴贤社区居民委员会（1999年）。[1]

地名由来[edit]

因辖区内有兴贤村而得名。[1]

人口与经济[edit]

社区材料称有947户、4570人，耕地1088亩，山地1658亩；据2009年统计，社会总产值8607万元，人均收入5931元。[2]庆贤村的居民办有大理石厂、面条加工厂、机械维修厂、粮食和木材加工厂、建筑队、豆制品厂以及商店、餐饮等个体私营企业。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

文昌书院又名文昌阁、怀城文阁，始建于1619年，塔高25米，2008年升为广东省文物保护单位。[3]
