西镇村是广东省茂名市信宜市北界镇西北部的行政村，原名童子湾，因地处货物自广西入境的通道而改名。[1]

地名由来[edit]

这里原叫童子湾；因猪、牛等货物多由广西经此运入，改称西进，又因信宜城区一带有东镇，遂把西进改作西镇。[1]

沿革[edit]

1932年为西镇乡，建国之初为西镇生产大队；1983年起设乡级政府，1987年起改设村民委员会，延续至今。[1]

经济与荣誉[edit]

全村分24个村民小组，在册870户，总面积4.1平方公里（该站未注明年份）。种水稻，近年以发展林业为主。[1]

2019年9月，西镇村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
