桃子村是广东省茂名市信宜市北界镇西南部的行政村，村名由「陶猪」雅化为「桃子」。[1]
地名由来[edit]
据博雅地名网，卢姓人当年弄来一头猪饲养，卢氏乡人便把这里叫作陶猪；后来改用较雅的写法，成了桃子。[1]
沿革[edit]
民国年间属六问南乡第九、十堡，建国之初称第九、十村。1952年分设七个初级社，1957年同北界并作北界高级社，后改北界大队；1962年同北界拆开，另立桃子大队。1983年起设乡级政府，1987年起改设村民委员会，延续至今。[1]
经济与荣誉[edit]
全村分19个村民小组，在册566户，总面积4平方公里（该站未注明年份）。种水稻、龙眼、荔枝，发展速生桉、养鸡养猪和养鱼。[1]
2023年5月，桃子村获「2022年广东省卫生村」称号；2019年9月列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
