这个村是1962年从木威行政村分出来的，所以叫木新[2]。

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，该村的名称与建制依次为：从木威大队分出木新和双树两个生产队（1962年）、两队合并为木新大队（1964年）、设乡政府（1983年）、村民委员会（1987年）、管理区办事处（1989年）、复称村民委员会，沿用至今（1999年）[1]。
