地名由来[edit]
这片垌地面积大，土壤肥沃，气候暖和，水源充足，是产量最高的稻区，旱涝都有收成，故名米场[2]。
历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，该村的名称与建制依次为：解放初期：特亮乡四区，土改期间设农会、先后为初级社、高级社（1952年）、米场大队（1958年）、设乡政府（1983年）、村民委员会（1987年）、管理区办事处（1989年）、复称村民委员会，沿用至今（1999年）[1]。
