上磨村隶属于信宜市金垌镇，在广东省茂名市境内，是镇辖的一个村民委员会[1]。
地名由来[edit]
据说最早来此居住的人姓莫，该地地势又较高，起初叫莫村，后谐音改作上磨[2]。
历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，该村的名称与建制依次为：民国时期：特亮围十三堡、解放初期：德良上乡十六村、金锋社（1953年）、上磨大队（1962年）、设乡政府（1983年）、村民委员会（1987年）、管理区办事处（1989年）、复称村民委员会，沿用至今（1999年）[1]。
