大谢村属广东省茂名市信宜市怀乡镇，位于镇域西北部，是镇下辖的24个行政村之一。[1]据博雅地名网所载，村内设36个村民小组，登记743户、共3651人，村域面积17.2平方千米，耕地约2100亩。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据说很久以前周围的村子瘟疫流行，唯独此村人畜兴旺，村民大祭神恩，村名原写作大榭，后写作大谢。[2]

民国年间为怀乡第五堡；1952年立怀乡大榭生产队。此后乡政府、管理区办事处等名称几度更替，1999年起定称大谢村民委员会。[1]

经济[edit]

村里种植水稻、玉米、木薯，副业和特色产业有竹器编织、三华梨、肉桂；据博雅地名网，上一年全村经济总收入约1407万元（年份未注明）。[1]
