这一带有一座叫木辂围的大村，村名取自它。[2]

中华人民共和国成立前隶怀乡卫；解放后为木辂围乡；1958年改编为木辂大队。此后乡政府、管理区办事处等名称几度更替，1999年起定称木辂村民委员会。[1]

  • 木辂村在2024年4月进入「广东省第一批乡村振兴示范村创建名单」。[1]
  • 2023年5月，经广东省爱卫会评定为「2022年广东省卫生村」。[1]
  • 2023年4月，木辂村列入「2022年广东省乡村治理示范村创建单位名单」。[1]
  • 2019年9月，名列2018年度广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建名单。[1]
