历史沿革[edit]
村名的来历：传说古时洪水漂来一只大木桶，桶里的孕妇在今贵子圩头的大榕树下生下一子，母子在此定居，人们认为这孩子大难不死，必定大富大贵，于是称此地贵子。[1]
民国时期归贵子第八堡，新中国成立时分为八村、九村，1952年合称贵子村。1955年，贵子、旺茅、石子、迥龙、石马五个村共设一个贵子管理区办事处；到1958年办人民公社时又各自分开，贵子成为一个大队。[1]
经济[edit]
贵子村地形为低丘陵，气候属南亚热带季风类型，年均气温约20至21度，年降雨量约2100毫米[1]。村内在册749户，人口3828人[1]。耕地1724亩，经济作物以木薯、三华李、速生桉为主[1]。
村情介绍称，全村有1390人外出到深圳等珠三角地区务工或在本地毛织厂就业，种植经济作物3500多亩，有养鸡专业户6户。[2]
