历史沿革[edit]
村名的来历：因村民委员会驻地设在函关村，故以此为名。[1]
民国时期属中和乡，在第九、十村一带。1957年成为函关高级社的一部分，1958年划归贵子乡，次年改隶朱砂公社，由其平民管理区办事处代管。其后1961年函口、函关、西门三地分设，函关设大队；1964年三地合并仍称函关大队，1980年又分开。1983年建乡，随后几经易名：1987年成为村民委员会，1989年为管理区办事处，1999年重新定名函关村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]
经济[edit]
函关村地形为低丘陵，气候属南亚热带季风类型，年均气温约20至21度，年降雨量约2100毫米[1]。村内在册480户，人口2250人[1]。耕地1479亩，经济作物以木薯、三华李为主[1]。
村情介绍称，通过“回归工程”，已有6家针织厂由外出乡人回乡开办，解决本地富余劳动力500人的出路；全村有790人外出务工。[2]

- 2021年12月，广东省爱卫会授予「2021年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
