大井镇在广东省茂名市高州市的西北部，是高州市下辖的镇，东岸河在境内汇入鉴江。镇域面积约128平方千米，辖1个社区和14个行政村，镇政府设在大井社区。[1][3]镇名取自大井村的一口古井。[4]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时期这一带称清井乡。[5]1950年设区，先后编为茂名县第六区和第十四区。其后建置依次是：1957年大井乡，1958年大井公社（维基百科作1961年），1983年改区。[1][2][5]大井区改镇的时间，百度百科记为1987年，博雅地名网的大井社区条目记为1986年11月28日。[1][5]设镇时，原有的乡改为村民委员会，共14个；1994年11月10日又成立镇居民委员会，后来更名为大井社区居民委员会。[5]

镇名的由来，博雅地名网记述：大井村有一口古井，是揭氏先人在明代挖成的，井水清澈，一年四季水位比村里池塘的还高，镇以此井得名。[3]

地理环境[edit]

大井镇与东岸、曹江、南塘、石板、潭头等镇相邻，207国道和省道井岸线经过镇域，鉴江和东岸江在境内交汇。[1][4]气候属亚热带季风气候。[1]

人口[edit]

2019年末，全镇户籍人口为56622人。[1]第七次全国人口普查（2021年公布）的常住人口为3.87万人，在高州市各街道乡镇中居第15位，辖区面积居第10位。[3]

经济[edit]

镇的农业以果、禽为主。据博雅地名网转载的镇情介绍，全镇种有荔枝4.3万亩（其中有“大井桂味”）、龙眼2.2万亩、香蕉1.2万亩；中美合资的高州伊势农业有限公司带动养殖，该介绍称，镇上年产山地鸡约380万只，一年出栏肉鸽逾百万只，鸡蛋年产量为1.2万吨，并称大井是广东最大的蛋鸡养殖基地。[4]该介绍还提到大利工业园，木材加工、皮革加工、纸品加工、建材四类工业，以及2004年全镇社会消费品零售总额10368万元、全镇工业企业369家、产值2.7亿元（原文数字截至2004年前后）。[4]2019年，全镇有工业企业11个，其中规模以上2个。[1]

2021年9月，大井镇列入广东省农业农村厅公布的第三批“一村一品、一镇一业”专业镇名单，产业为蛋鸡。[3]清垌村也在2020年入选首批同类专业村（蛋鸡）。[6]木广垌村2021年入选第二批专业村（荔枝），并于2019年入选第二批国家森林乡村。[7]2022年1月，大井镇获「2021年度广东省卫生城镇」命名。[3]
