中山村属湛江市廉江市，在石岭镇境内，是该镇辖下的行政村，村委会设在中山村，下辖18条自然村；2005年全村1108户、4696人。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立前夕，游击队驻扎在该村，廉江县人民政府也在这里办公、指挥全县的游击战争，原名荔枝山村的村子因此改称中山村。[1][2]

1950年称中山乡，人民公社化时期称中山大队，后改称管理区；1999年改设村民委员会。[1][2]

2020年8月，中山村入选广东省农业农村厅首批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村（辣椒）。[1][2]

人口民族[edit]

据2005年的统计，全村1108户、4696人，汉族约占99%，另有壮族、苗族等；姓氏方面，肖姓约占30%，周姓约占20%，另有许、黄、龙、郑、黎、阮、张、杨、谢等姓；村民通行黎话（约占80%）和白话。[1][2]

经济[edit]

耕地共2942亩（2005年），种的作物有水稻、番薯、木薯、芋头、花生和蔬菜；该年粮食产量1482.6吨，渔业产量90吨，经济总收入为1100万元。[1][2]

村里的土特产有甘蔗、芋头、蒜头、尖椒、木薯。[1][2]
