历史沿革[edit]

前身是1952年的南村乡，1958年起叫八一大队。三丰大队在1984年并入后，合称南村乡；1988年两村分开，八一改设管理区，1998年成为八一村民委员会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

获评湛江市2020年度全市文明村（2021年1月公布名单）；2023年5月公布的2022年度广东省卫生村名单中，有辖内的下寮村、东沟村、建安村、下村仔村、鲎藤村、云路村、后寮村、南村、田头村；2018年度广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单（2019年9月）收有该村。[1]
