历史沿革[edit]
村子挨着马冈墟，传说当年是官兵驻扎的地方，故称官堂[1]。
清代隶属开平县长静都，民国年间划入第二区马冈乡。新中国成立后归第十一区；1955年为马冈官塘乡，1961年属马冈公社，称官塘大队。进入八十年代，先在1984年设乡，1989年改为管理区，1993年随开平设市归入马冈镇，1999年起称村民委员会[1]。
人口民族[edit]
村委会管辖区的人口为2427人（602户），其中劳动力约1400人[1]。
经济[edit]
村集体2009年的收入为3万元，农民人均年收入为2100元[1]。
文化[edit]
2019年9月，官堂村列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单[1]。
名胜古迹[edit]
官堂村古建筑群在村委会辖区内，年代为清，类别为古建筑，于2020年11月29日列入第五批文物保护单位[1]。博雅地名网在介绍马冈镇特产时，写有出产于“官塘村”的井仔荔枝：坡地上种荔枝，地里有一口水井，得名井仔荔枝[1]。
