白洞村是佛山市高明区更合镇西南边的行政村，与肇庆市高要区、云浮市新兴县相邻，地处老香山脚下，是革命老区，村内有近百年来受保护的桫椤林[2][4]。近年来，白洞茶以“高明红”品牌重新发展[4]。

历史沿革[edit]

明清时期，白洞村属景顺乡高村都；1951年12月属高明县二区；1958年成立白洞大队，隶属高鹤县合水公社；1978年分出鹿田大队；1987年设白洞村委会[3]。2004年鹿田村委会并入白洞村委会，2005年随合水镇并入更合镇[3]。

地理与人口[edit]

村委会面积约15平方千米，山地约21568.3亩，耕地2565.83亩；下辖迳尾、井坑、布莲塘、鹿田、旺田、白洞旧村、白洞新村、上榄坑、下榄坑、大安10个自然村，村情材料称有667户，2568人；2017年，全村集体收入合计46.5万元，人均纯收入为5000元[1][2]。

白洞茶[edit]

白洞村的茶园在老香山麓，20世纪60年代建有国营茶场，80年代退出，此后由私人作坊采制，进入21世纪因速生桉种植，茶园一度缩减到约200亩[4]。2021年，村里联合区国资部门和更合镇办起「佛山市高明红茶业有限公司」，把白洞茶统一叫作“高明红”，到2023年茶园面积增至600多亩，并建有茶文化研学基地[4]。

文化遗产与人物[edit]

村情材料所列的历史文化遗产有：白洞新村的“毓贤里”（130多年）、仁荣钟公祠（100多年），白洞旧村的祠堂，旺田村和鹿田村的大楼；辖区有近2万亩生态林，其中包括保护了近百年的桫椤林；材料还说，刘田夫以及后来任浙江省副省长的陈学勤等老一辈革命者出自白洞[2]。鹿田村获“广东省名村”称号，旺田村是高明区新农村建设的试点[2]。
