江湾社区是佛山市高明区荷城街道内城乡结合的社区，位于西江转弯处，「湾」「弯」同音，社区因此得名。[1][4]辖区面积20.21平方千米，是把原来的渡头、练滘、六湾、富湾四个村（居）委撤销合并后形成的。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

这一带明清时多属高要县泰和围，1951年12月泰和乡划归高明县，设六湾乡、练滘乡和富湾圩。1958年起属西安公社；1961年和1973年曾两度另置富湾公社；1983年起属富湾区，后属富湾镇。[3]

2004年，渡头、练滘、六湾三个村委会和富湾居委会撤销，设立江湾社区居委会；2005年区划调整后，改属荷城街道。[3]

人口与社区概况[edit]

社区简介称辖18条自然村、24个居民小组；常住人口8250多人，农村居民2535户、约6150人，城镇居民749户，另有流动人口5500人。2011年的人均收入约为7500元。[2]

2023年5月，渡头村获「2022年广东省卫生村」称号；2021年12月社区获「2021年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
