月明社区是佛山市高明区荷城街道中心城区南部的社区，辖区内有月明街，社区得名于此。[1][4]社区辖有城中村官当村，下分11个居民小组。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

官当村明清时属依仁乡，民国时属三区普安乡。1958年设官当大队，隶属高鹤县三洲公社；1983年设官当乡，1984年设高明镇后改属该镇。1994年设立星河居委会和月明居委会；2004年官当居委会归入星河居委会，两年后星河居委会又归入月明居委会，属高明区荷城街道。[3]

社区概况[edit]

辖区面积约3.5平方千米，社区简介称居民约8250户、人口约28000人，设有党总支部1个、党支部5个，有七星岗公园和常安食街等（简介未注明统计年份）。[2]

2019年9月，月明社区进入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2024年1月被确定为2023年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」。[1]
