居委会成立于2000年，其中沿革栏记为1月26日，社区简介记为2月；此后名称未变。[1][3]
地理与人口[edit]
辖区东至健力宝北路，南到广海大道，西靠同福北路，北至广三高速，面积0.584平方公里；社区简介载在册居民2747户、8093人。区内有区财政局、税务局、三水区妇幼保健院和同福商贸城。[3]
2018年7月，司法部、民政部将张边社区列入第七批全国民主法治示范村（社区）。[1]
