历史沿革[edit]
辖地早年属金本，1961年为金本公社，1984年为金本区，1987年金本改镇。到2004年，九水江、天湖、竹山、官员四个村委会和金本社区居委会合并成立五顶岗村民委员会；村简介所列合并前村名略有出入。[1]
自然村与人口[edit]
21个自然村里有九水江、竹山、天湖、周灶、云塘、向东、村头等，也有上村、东村、大路、新村、石基、海边、亨堂、厘南、上厘、上桂和邝家、刘家、一甲。村简介所记户籍人口10375人，常住人口13935人；耕地5065亩，鱼塘4439亩。[2]
据村简介，2009年农民人均所得10231元；当年一、二、三产业收入依次为6820万元、14792万元和2906万元。2026年3月又被认定为「广东省第三批百千万工程典型村」。[1][2]
