西海村是佛山市顺德区北滘镇东面的行政村，辖区约10平方千米，东隔河滘水道与广州番禺的紫泥相望；据说这里是珠江三角洲的第一个抗日根据地，西海抗日烈士陵园在村内。[1][2][3]

名称与沿革[edit]

传说最早在此开村的人姓姜，清乾隆五十四年已形成村落；因位于桃村之西，中间隔着一条河，当地把河叫作「海」，所以叫西海，也曾称西城、西洲。[1]1958年成立西海大队，1959年归北滘公社，1998年设西海村委会。[1]

概况[edit]

村辖30个村民小组，总人口约2万，其中户籍10354人，流动人口约8900人。[2]北邻桃村，西隔林头河与林港工业园相望，南面是北滘港所在的工业园。[2]2013年土地租金收入3000多万元，村民凭股份分红。[2]2010年起农保转城保全面铺开。[2]2024年1月，西海被确定为2023年度广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」。[1]

西海抗日烈士陵园[edit]

抗日战争期间，南海、番禺、中山、顺德四县的中共中心县委设在西海，当地军民前后打了三十来仗，的「西海大捷」歼灭了李辅群部43师的两个团，村里有41人牺牲。[3]1952年，顺德县人民政府为纪念西海大捷和烈士，在珠江纵队广游二支队当年驻地建陵园；到1980年，县里又拨款50万元扩建。[2][3]陵园占地3.6万多平方米，有纪念碑、烈士墓和革命文物陈列馆，馆藏文物300余件。[3][4]陵园在1982年被广东省列为文物重点保护单位，1989年又成为省重点烈士纪念建筑物保护单位；佛山市在1994年把它定为爱国主义教育基地。[2]
