广教社区是佛山市顺德区北滘镇东部的社区，距镇中心约2千米，紧挨105国道、三乐东线公路和林港路；辖区面积1.5平方千米，分十个自然村小组。[1][2]

名称与历史沿革[edit]

广教建村在元代以前，历史有千余年，原属南海县都宁司，明景泰三年（1452年）划归顺德县。[1]相传最初黄姓人家到此定居，建黄家祠，后有召姓迁入建召家祠，两姓合并后取村名「玕教」，以美玉比喻这片建在河滘上的家园；清中叶后与乾滘并称，清末民初定名广教，「广教」实为「乾滘」的谐音。[1]1950年曾与林头合编为林广乡，1951年底分出，另设广教乡，属第三区；1958年成立大队，翌年归入北滘公社；1989年12月起称管理区，2001年改为居委会。[1]

社区概况[edit]

2001年9月村改居时成立广教社区居委会；至2014年6月，社区有常住居民3215人，外来人员1.7万余人。[2]社区自述曾获「广东省卫生村」「顺德区青年文明社区」等称号。[2]

古迹与人物[edit]

杨氏大宗祠为清代建筑，2005年修复，坐东向西，三开间三进，面宽17米，进深约43.7米，建筑面积742平方米。[1]明代「后七子」之一的梁有誉是广教人。[3]
