容山社区属广东省佛山市顺德区容桂街道，居街道中心城区，北靠德胜河，东界桥西路，西界凤祥路，南与容新社区相邻，面积约1平方千米[1][2]。社区明代立村，设7个居民小组和4个股份合作社[2]。

历史沿革[edit]

地名资料说，容山明代已有村落，而“容山”这一名字到清咸丰年间才出现，缘于当地有座容山[3]。明代到新中国成立初，此地属容奇；1951年并入第十区，次年成立容山乡。1956年办农业合作社时曾取名振德，1958年设振德大队；1987年回到容奇镇辖下，改称容山村，1989年又改作管理区[1]。

2001年8月重新划界成立容山居委会，界线为：南到德胜路，北到德胜河，西到凤祥南平路，东到105国道[1]。

市政与人口[edit]

2008年的统计数字是：常住居民6840人，外来人员8000多人[2]。80年代修成的容奇大道全长3000米，路面宽45米，在容桂属最宽最长之列；道旁有美景大厦（28层）、富丽大厦（25层），社区内还有容山小学、乐安市场、海傍公园、桥西公园等[2]。
