上佳市社区属广东省佛山市顺德区容桂街道，位于街道东部，面积约1平方千米，下分7个居民小组，据称明朝末年已立村[1]。关于“上佳市”这一名称，当地流传着风水先生见黄隹的故事[3]。

历史沿革[edit]

社区资料称，立村于明朝末年。其建制依次是：1973年9月上佳市革命委员会；1984年3月上佳市镇人民政府；1987年3月上佳市办事处；1993年11月与中兴管理区并为上佳市街道办事处；2001年2月起为居民委员会，2003年定名上佳市社区居民委员会，一直沿用[1][2]。

地名由来[edit]

故事说，昔有风水先生经过，见一只短尾的黄隹从地上飞起、没入云间，便悟出“上隹”二字；后来“隹”与“佳”形近，又逢墟市兴起，写成了“上佳市”[3]。

社区概况[edit]

常住居民约8000人，暂住者7000多人；顺德大道与桂洲大道穿过全境，辖区有小学2所、中学1所，另设一座敬老院和5个小公园[2]。社区还获得多项荣誉：2007年为容桂首批「广东省“六好”平安和谐社区」，2008年为「广东省城市体育先进社区」和「顺德区文明社区」，2009年为「广东省充分就业社区」「广东省民主法治示范社区」「佛山市“十好”和谐文明居村」[2]。
