历史沿革[edit]
据地名资料，村民陈显忠中进士后，因「显」与「蚬」同音，村名由蚬岗改为显岗。[1]
民国十六年（1927年）属大桐堡，其后为大同乡、五区大同北乡；并乡时（1957年）划入西南乡。次年成为九江公社大同大队的一部分，1961年大同公社设立后，显岗分出富贤、西北、南新、东方四队，1963年2月合并成显岗大队。[2]
1983年底九江建区，这里改立显岗乡；之后称行政村（1987年）、管理区（1989年），1994年3月起纳入西樵山旅游度假区的范围。1999年5月起设村民委员会，2011年「村改居」，由居民委员会取代。[2]
2019年9月，显岗社区进入广东省2018年度「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
