简朴村是汕头市潮南区成田镇下辖的行政村，在大南山下的半丘陵地带，东邻陇田镇，南倚大南山。[1]据博雅地名网，村人口18338人，是成田镇人口最多的村，也是老区村和重点侨乡（该页未注明年份）。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

南宋淳熙年间（1174年至1189年），福建莆田人李笃斋到潮阳做官，在此定居，当时地处海汊，叫“港泊”。因“泊”“朴”潮音相近，明隆庆年间（1567年至1572年）改称“港朴”，又因“港”“简”潮音相同，演变为“简朴”。[1][2]村内的大埔、月丹围、新乡三个自然片都创于清代。[2]

1950年称简朴乡，1958年为简朴大队，1987年3月改为村委会。[1]

经济[edit]

农业以水稻、甘薯、花生为主。1920年起，村里造林种果，并在山岗上建了管护林木的两层砖瓦楼，村人称“观林楼”。简朴林场1956年获国务院授予的「全国林业先进单位」称号，次年得广东省农业生产特等奖；国家林业部又在1959年、1989年分别给予造林绿化先进单位奖、先进乡村林场奖。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

祯祥善堂是村里的民间福利机构，前身为清光绪初年创办的民间救济组织，属报德古堂十三社体系，曾参与1911年简朴乡鼠疫死者的收殓。1999年3月正式成立简朴祯祥善堂福利会，其登记状态现为撤销。[3]

荣誉[edit]

2008年，简朴村被评为“广东省先进基层党组织”和“广东省卫生村”。[2]

著名人物[edit]

侨领李光隆（泰国潮州会馆名誉主席、汕头市荣誉市民）、李桂雄（泰国华人青年商会会长）和李楚源（广州白云山和记黄埔中药公司总经理）都出自该村。[2]
