溪东社区是汕头市潮南区成田镇下辖的社区，位于镇区北侧，北面与深沟村、西面与家美社区相连。^[1]名称取自村西环绕的溪河。^[1]

历史沿革[edit]

社区得名于村西的溪河：这里在大南山北麓，溪水绕村，所以叫溪东。^[2]据博雅地名网，明成化年间（1465年至1487年），陈姓先人从贵山都华里东（今属贵屿镇）迁来立村，如今陈姓占社区人口的95%，另有林姓。^[2]社区内还安置了原“隐少村”移民95户、419人。^[2]

1921年划归潮阳县第七区。新中国成立后，1950年划入田东乡，人民公社化时为溪东大队，1983年底恢复溪东乡的名称，1987年3月起设居委会。^[1]

社区种水稻、甘薯、花生和生柑，工副业有化妆品、袜厂、羊毛厂。境内的集市始于清代，曾是周边农副产品的集散地，称“成田墟”。^[2]

清光绪三十三年（1907年），村民陈妈保动员旅居上海的乡亲捐款，建起启元学堂；1930年又办启元女校，招收不识字的青年妇女。^[2]当地因此有“文化乡”之称。^[2]

陈景龙（曾任沈阳军区副司令员）、陈焕礼（曾任珠海市副市长）和画家陈世霖都是该社区人。^[2]
