宁湖村是汕头市潮南区成田镇下辖的行政村，在大南山东北面，离镇区约6公里。博雅地名网称它为“二战”时期的革命老区村，并说成田镇共有4个山区村，宁湖是其一。^[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明成化年间（1465年至1487年），先人从福建来此定居。村四周群山环抱，形如天然湖泊，寨门横匾书“万古宁湖”，村名取此。^[1]^[2]

村地处偏僻，经济发展较慢，村民靠种田、种果和外出务工为生。省委组织部的“十百千万”工作组2005年入驻之后，村里筹资300多万元，修建村道、两座桥梁、新办公址和饮水工程；2006年引进一家织布厂，结束了村里没有工业企业的状况。^[1]
