田中央社区是汕头市潮南区成田镇下辖的社区，是老区村和侨乡。[1]因处在田洋中央而得名，东连华西村，南接简朴村，西、北与家美社区、溪东社区相邻。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，村子创建于明永乐年间（1403年至1424年）。[1]居民姓马，始迁祖马长安于南宋末年从揭阳县汤坑（今属丰顺县）迁到大南山下，先在今田中央水厂附近搭草寮，后看中溪尾一带地广人稀，迁到现在马氏始祖祠所在处。[2]

1950年属田东乡，1958年为田东大队，1981年9月批准改称田中央大队，1987年3月改为居委会。[1]

人口民族[edit]

该页称社区人口7352人、1500多户，山地850亩（未注明年份）。[1]清咸丰至同治年间，村民参加太平天国的斗争，失败后不少人逃往泰国，其后陆续有人到泰国谋生，旅外侨胞和港澳台同胞的人数是本地的7倍多。[2]

经济[edit]

种植水稻、甘薯、花生、大豆、生柑，工副业有服装和五金。社区组建了潮州笛套音乐队，境内还建有一座220千伏变电站。[2]2008至2010年，深圳企业家马泽琪、陈钢民夫妇出资4000多万元，重建成田高级中学。[2]

荣誉[edit]

广东省乡村振兴局在2022年1月公布的名单中，把田中央社区列为2021年度乡村治理示范村的创建单位。[1]

著名人物[edit]

马元利（同盟会会员，旅泰侨领）、马君楚（泰国华文作家协会会长）和汕头市原副市长马诚都是该社区人。[2]
