沙头社区在沙井街道中部，总面积0.8平方公里，因此地原多沙石而得名，是沙井的商业集中区之一。[1][2]

沿革[edit]

1993年1月改称沙井沙头村委会，到2004年7月，因城市化改制而改设沙头社区居民委员会；2009年2月沙头社区拆分出茭塘社区，两个居委会由沙头社区工作站统一管理，称「一站两居」。[1][2]

人口与经济[edit]

介绍所载，社区常住人口5万多人，户籍人口470人，有企业80多家、个体工商户600多家；旧工业区占社区面积的62.5%。2003年起社区按以第三产业为方向规划转型，建成了商场、沙头商业街、酒店和京基百纳广场等项目。2022年3月名列首批深圳市绿色（宜居）社区。[1][2]
