福田社区是深圳市福田街道下辖的社区，在福田中心区东面，与香港的马草垄只隔一条河，辖区主要是福田村和福新坊。[1][2]

名称由来[edit]

相传这里先叫「格田」，再叫「幅田」，「幅」「福」同音，才写作福田，含「得福于田」之意。[1] 百度百科另记有别名「隔田」：南宋末年黄姓始祖黄金堂的第四子黄酉孙从上沙村迁来垦荒，开垦的田地多而分散，邻村称他们「隔田佬」，村名因而叫隔田，后改福田。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

社区前身为福田村，早先是宝安县附城公社下的福田大队。[1] 1983年设村委会；1992年10月为加快农村城市化，村委会改制成居委会；2002年又改称福田社区居委会。[1]

百度百科称，福田村旧有水田旱地一万亩，最盛时包括东头村、西头村、老围、牛巷村、祠堂村和福田新村6个自然村，城市化以后分成8个片区，名为东头坊、西头坊、牛巷坊、大门坊、祠堂坊、岗边坊、贝底田坊和福新坊。[2]

人口与荣誉[edit]

社区自述总人口6万余，户籍人口为2704人。[1] 2022年3月，福田社区被认定为深圳市首批绿色（宜居）社区。[1]
