洋西村在邓坊镇东南部，距镇政府约3公里，属半山区村，辖18个村民小组，553户2185人。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村子在西边，夕阳正落向此处，“阳”谐音“洋”，因此得名。[1]

地理与经济[edit]

全村总面积1163.2公顷，其中耕地2528亩、林地724.4公顷；东面与油山镇相邻。以黄烟为主导产业，2020年8月（丝苗米）入选首批广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年至1955年属古洋区，1955年成立洋西初级社，1958年改洋西大队，1961年起归邓坊公社；1961年冬洋西与田心合并。1967年改乡，1987年改管理区，1998年12月撤区建村。[1]
