赤石村在南雄市东北部，邓坊镇与黄坑镇交界处，是革命老区村，辖12个村民小组，520户2003人。[1]
地名由来[edit]
当地地表多有牛肝色的石块，村名“赤石”由此而来。[1]
地理与经济[edit]
全村土地11241亩，耕地占2563亩，林地4755亩；水稻和黄烟是主要的产业。2020年8月，赤石村（李子）入选首批广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
新中国成立后到1953年村属镇中乡，下有和睦塘、赤石两个农会；1956年组成赤石高级社。1958年两地合为赤石大队，1961年短暂分设，1963年重新合一。1983年设乡，1988年为管理区，1998年12月撤区建村。[1]
