地名由来[edit]
当地说法是村庄建在山里，食物和水源都能在村内自给，故称里源。[1]
地理与经济[edit]
全村土地面积22787亩，其中水田2080亩、旱地522亩、林地约1.97万亩。种植上，黄烟568亩，优质水稻1737亩，另有甜玉米327亩；另有竹木8000亩和生猪1250头。[1]2021年9月，里源村（水果）入选第二批广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
合作化时期，村里1955年办初级社，次年升为高级社。人民公社化后于1958年立里元大队，隶黄坑公社邓坊管理区；1963年竹山下大队并入。1983年起称里源乡，1988年为管理区，1998年12月撤区建村。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
泉水谷风景区在村内，占地近7000亩，设漂流、登山、水上乐园等项目，是国家3A级旅游景区。[2]
