历史沿革[edit]
此地早年是简姓人聚居之处，故名“简塘”。[1]
简塘村的集体组织始于1956年成立的简塘高级农业生产合作社。两年后实行人民公社化，村隶属中新公社，当时的生产大队叫简塘大队；1959年福和从中新公社划出，村随之改属福和公社。1983年公社改区，大队改称乡，1987年撤乡设村、成立村民委员会，仍归福和镇管辖，2004年福和镇并入中新镇后改属中新镇。[1]
