太平村是广州市增城区荔湖街道辖下的行政村，土地面积0.35平方千米，设10个合作社，有人口2000人[1]。博雅地名网称，村名一说是因为这里受战乱影响小、较为安定，另因村委会设在太平村[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立初期属增城县一区清燕乡，编为第九村；1952年土改时立太平小乡，1955年办太平农业合作社。1958年公社化时，这里成为县属的太平苗圃场，1962年苗圃场下放，由增江公社管辖，才正式叫太平大队。人民公社撤销的1983年，大队改称太平乡；1987年1月起设太平村委会。1989年划出一部分给新成立的西瓜岭村委会，并改属荔城镇；2004年属荔城街道，2019年起属荔湖街道[1]。

经济[edit]

村内水泥硬底化基本完成，交通道路通达各方[1]。2021年9月，太平村列入广东省农业农村厅公布的第二批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单，产业为水果[1]。

荣誉[edit]

太平村2021年12月获广东省卫生村称号；2022年1月被确定为广东省2021年乡村治理示范村创建单位；2023年11月入选广东「百千万工程」首批典型县镇村；2024年11月被认定为高质量就业社区（村），属广州市的认定[1]。
