木棉村隶属广东省广州市从化区太平镇，为镇辖行政村，村委会设在镇域北部。[1] 全村面积约5000亩，下设35个经济社，村委会介绍的人口为7450人、农户1720户（该介绍未注明年份）。村委会距从化城区约13公里，距太平镇区约13公里。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

相传木棉村由宋代的谢氏所建。[1]

据博雅地名网，1967年改设为红棉大队，到1974年恢复原名木棉村，到1983年12月改名木棉乡，到1987年1月改名木棉村民委员会，此名沿用到现在。[1]

木棉村的龟咀靠近流溪河边，地形像乌龟的嘴，故名龟咀；它曾是木帆船运输的枢纽，货物上通从化，下达广州、香港、澳门，据介绍，龟咀古墟市曾是从化经济最发达的古墟市。[2] 清光绪年间所建的「孝行流芳」牌坊也在龟咀社。[3]

荣誉与名单

  • 2019年9月，木棉村列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单。[1]
  • 2020年8月，木棉村（休闲农业）列入「首批广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村」名单。[1]
  • 2023年5月，木棉村获「2022年广东省卫生村」称号（广东省爱卫会）。[1]
  • 2024年11月，木棉村被认定为「2024年广州市充分就业社区（村）」。[1]

据村委会介绍，村里的生计是：栽种荔枝、龙眼；种水稻、花生，也有村民外出务工。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

五岳殿在木棉村东阁，2002年7月公布为广东省文物保护单位。现存建筑为砖木石结构悬山顶，坐西向东，占地约134.6平方米，梁架、斗拱、柱式等构件带有明代风格；始建年代不详，明成化六年（1470年）重建，1890年重修。[4] 博雅地名网引《从化文物志》，称其为宋代风格，约有一千年历史，说法与百度百科不同。[1] 殿内供奉五虎将等神像。[4]

村内的荔枝皇是一棵植于明代的荔枝树，在龟咀石塘岭，树高12.5米，冠幅直径33.6米，2004年7月获「大世界基尼斯之最」证书；2019年，太平镇在它周边两千多棵荔枝树的林地上建起荔枝皇公园。[5] 瀛洲堂位于木棉小学内，建于民国时期，是谢瀛洲留法回国后参照欧洲建筑风格自行设计、并从法国运回材料修建的近代建筑。[3] 羽善西公祠在五岳殿右侧，门楹石条上刻有祠名。[1]

从化区人民政府于2015年发布的历史建筑与传统风貌建筑推荐线索名单中，列有本村的陈氏公祠、传统民居群、德仁谢公祠（礼堂）、龟咀墟商铺群、墨西楼、西岭门楼等，共9处。名单所列只是普查线索，不等于已定级的文物。[6]

著名人物[edit]

谢瀛洲，木棉村人，早年赴法国留学，在巴黎大学获法学博士学位，1924年回国，后在台湾去世。[7]
