环山村位于炭步镇东南部，南面与佛山市南海区相邻，面积约4.5平方千米，下辖9个村民小组，禅炭公路南北向穿过村域。[1]宋末立村，初因村庄横跨虎头山称横山，后环绕虎头山扩建，改称环山。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1987年设环山村委会，隶属炭步区公所，同年3月转隶炭步镇人民政府。[1]

姓氏宗族[edit]

搜狐号文章称环山是花都龚姓宗亲的聚居地；1914年村里「大王庙」建成，岐山黄氏曾送来「念念不忘」横匾，后来双方相约每隔三年互访；福才龚公祠于2023年重建落成。[2]

经济[edit]

村内农业以水稻、花卉种植和鱼塘养殖为主，工业有生铁制造、机械加工、金属冶炼等。2024年3月被命名为「2023年广东省卫生村」。[1]
