步云村位于炭步镇东南部、巴江河南岸，面积约1.33平方千米，下辖9个村民小组。[1]村名取「步入青云」之意。[1]2017年11月，步云村获评「第五届全国文明村镇」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

步云村南宋时期建村。1987年设炭步、步云两个村委会，1992年撤销炭步村委会并入步云村。[1]

经济[edit]

禅炭公路从村旁经过。农业以水稻、花生、花卉和鱼塘养殖为主，绿健农产品加工在村内带动农业，工业则有五金、橡胶和皮革制品。[1]

村先后被列为「广州市社会主义新农村试点村」，并获「广东省科技示范村」「广东省文明村」「广东省生态环保村」称号；2021年12月获广东省卫生村称号，2026年1月获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]
