炭步社区是花都区炭步镇的社区居民委员会，位于镇中心区，办公地在园华路90号。[1]炭步这一地名相传出自南宋年间北方移民在河边堆炭、外运的埗头。[1]2002年，原有的两个居民委员会合并成立现在的炭步社区居委会。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1987年1月，炭步区公所设立炭步镇居委会，同年3月起隶属炭步镇人民政府。1997年镇政府另设炭步镇第二居民委员会；2002年经花都区人民政府同意，两个居委会合并，定名炭步社区居民委员会，沿用至今。[1]
经济[edit]
炭步社区于2021年11月被广州市住房和城乡建设局确定为广州市2021年绿色社区，2024年11月被认定为「2024年广州市充分就业社区」。[1]
