新基村是广州市番禺区南村镇下辖的行政村，村名意为新筑的堤基，村民最初就在新堤边住下。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代，一批以船为家的水上人在这里落脚，他们租种员岗村的田地为生，居无定所。1911年以后，陆续在新围的基堤上定居，村子取名新基。1958年人民公社化时称新基大队，1987年成立新基村民委员会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

新基村2020年、2022年上榜淘宝村名单，2024年11月获评「2024年广州市充分就业社区（村）」。[1]
