坑头村是广州市番禺区南村镇下辖的行政村，在镇的南部，村域面积约4.02平方千米，分12个村民小组。[2]村名取自位置：它处在一条向南入海的山溪（俗称水坑）的源头。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村中相传建于东晋时期（公元420年）。传说将军陈元德原籍山西，受人诬陷后率部南逃，先到白水坑一带，再向西迁到现址，定名坑头。后来因为觉得「坑」字有不吉之意，一度改称永宁乡，之后又恢复旧名。[1][3]1958年人民公社化时称坑头大队，1987年成立坑头村民委员会。[1]

人口经济[edit]

据百度百科，村里有1463户，户籍人口4126人，另有一万多名外来人员；2023年的村集体收入为2310万元，人均18041元。[2]村民以火龙果种植、绿化苗木培育和鱼类养殖为业，村内有工业区和市新路沿线商业街。[2]

文化与荣誉[edit]

村内保留岭南水乡和岗地林地的格局，传统村落范围25.57公顷，梳式街巷和连片风水塘是保护重点；永宁古街巷、梁式宗祠经过重修。[2][3]中国生态文化协会在2009年度把「全国生态文化村」的称号授予坑头村；2020年至2022年，村连续上榜淘宝村名单；2022年1月，广东省乡村振兴局将坑头村列为「2021年广东省乡村治理示范村」的创建单位；2026年1月，获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]
