麦村村是广州市黄埔区新龙镇南部的山区行政村，名称由明代的「麦约」演变而来，有11个经济合作社[1][2]。

地名由来[edit]

相传明代麦氏从紫金迁来建村，以姓氏称「麦约」；后来麦氏迁走，冯姓迁入，沿用旧名，又因难以繁衍而迁出，名称逐渐变成「麦村」[2]。1986年村管委会成立时，一度仍用麦约村名[3]。

历史沿革[edit]

1964年，麦村与九楼、大坦合组大坦大队；1984年麦村与大坦合设大坦乡，乡府在大坦的船江；1986年末两村各设管委会，麦村那时一度沿用「麦约」之名；1989年起称麦村村民委员会[3]。此后归属数变：2004年划入增城市中新镇，2005年8月转到萝岗区九龙镇，2014年黄埔区接管，2019年起隶属新龙镇[3]。

地理与经济[edit]

全村土地约4600亩，含山地3600亩、水田960亩、旱地105亩；常住213户共998人（所记年份不明）；农业以水稻、蔬菜和家禽养殖为主，村内无工业[1]。

荣誉[edit]

  • 2021年12月，入选「2021年广州粤菜师傅名村」[1]。
  • 2023年11月，入选「广东“百千万工程”首批典型县镇村」[1]。
  • 2024年11月，获评「2024年广州市高质量就业社区（村）」[1]。
