地名由来[edit]
相传当地有金矿，河中出金沙，河名金坑河，后来在河上修了金坑水库，村名由此而来[3]。
历史沿革[edit]
清代，今水库一带名九龙围，村称九龙围约。新中国成立后属增城县第三区的云山乡，1956年归镇龙乡；1959年金坑河中段筑起水库，同时成立金坑大队，并入中新公社，1976年改属镇龙公社；1984年建金坑乡，1986年7月设村管委会，1989年起称村民委员会[4]。此后归属数变：2004年划入增城市中新镇，2005年8月转到萝岗区九龙镇，2015年黄埔区接管，2019年起隶属新龙镇[4]。
人口与区划[edit]
村域约12平方公里，下设宝石、谷洞、银岭、楼新、楼下等16个经济合作社；博雅地名网载有460户2567人（所记年份不明），全为汉族客家人[1][2]。村内曾有东江纵队活动[2]。
金坑水库[edit]
水库在村内的金坑河上，1959年9月开工，1964年4月完工，属中型水库，集水面积41平方公里，库容合计1927.8万立方米[5]。水库对岸有金坑森林公园，约500万平方米[5]。
荣誉[edit]
2024年11月，获评「2024年广州市充分就业社区（村）」[1]。
