长坑村位于下白石镇西南部，西面与八都镇辖区隔望，东面与章坑村相邻，南北分别与行洋村、荷屿村接壤，全村总面积约2平方千米。村名的来历：境内有一条很长的小溪，当地称溪为“坑”；村中又有“西坑”和“长楼坪”（塘楼湾），故称长坑。[1]

全村170户、586人，分住4个村民小组。土地约1588亩，其中耕地230亩；林地1358亩，树种以杉木、毛竹为主。[1][2]
